San Rocco Ashton

Firstly, this restaurant is very well presented and I give it full marks for that! But a shame the food and moreover the prices of the food didn't match up to it, guess its true what they say "looks can be deceiving".

The service was also typically Italian, with arrogant waiters who preferred to serve the women politely and almost completely ignore the men. We went as a group of five and ordered varying meals such as steak (I know not an Italian choice) pasta and Lasagna. On first impressions the food looked impressive and I couldn't wait to get stuck in, but after the first few bites my high expectations were soon lost. Don't get me wrong the food was nice and i'm not trying to say I don't recommend it, but for the price you pay, you certainly don't get your moneys worth!

The atmosphere in the place was the best quality of this restaurant, with gentle music playing in the background and no one competing to be heard. But sadly this wouldn't be enough to take me back to this restaurant, because I don't pay ridiculous amounts of money just to hear a gentle song!

Rating: All out of 5 stars
Service: 2
Food: 3.5
Atmosphere: 4
Locations: 3
Overall: 3

Negatives: My first negative of the restaurant happened within 10 minutes of walking in, when I was greeted by a young looking waiter who abruptly barged past me to grab my girlfriends drink, which in fairness was kind of him to carry her drink to the table, but that's where my negative comes in, she wasn't the only female? so why only her drink!! Another negative would be the prices, the food quality certainly didn't match up to the steep prices at all. The food was nice yes... but not THAT nice! We are in a recession remember!

Overall I don't think I will be returning to this restaurant, but if you like steaks and don't mind paying the steep price for just an AVERAGE steak they go for it.
